Desmond Cervantez

Desmond Cervantez has been the Director of Bands at the High School in Solon, Iowa since 1999. Before his public school teaching career, Desmond taught private trumpet and brass for many years and still maintains a small studio. He also teaches applied trumpet lessons at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Performance from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, his Master of Music in Performance from Northeast Missouri State (which is now Truman State), and received his teacher education certificate from the University of Iowa. Desmond has arranged many works for his own quintet, Cedar River Brass Quintet. He also arranged music for his daughters and many of his students over the years for solo and ensemble contests.
